Grayling and trout

Our journey begins in Kuusamo or Ruka, from where we head to the river, where our experienced fishing guide has selected the best spots for us. The minimum size for grayling is 35 cm, but we are aiming for even larger specimens – grayling over 40 cm are waiting to be caught. In these waters, there is even a chance to encounter trophies over half a meter long. As the day turns into evening, the challenge of trout fishing begins. The rising trout is a demanding opponent, but the more you engage with it, the more fascinating it becomes. Between fishing sessions, we enjoy delicious meals and a warm cup of coffee. We expect trout with an average weight of around 1.5 kg, with the largest specimens reaching up to 3 kg. However, success is not guaranteed here; fishing requires patience and a good sense.
